  • My Olympic Summer

2007. USA. 13 mins. Directed by Daniel Robin. Produced by Daniel Robin.

In the wake of his own recently failed marriage, filmmaker Daniel Robin re-examines 8mm home movies of his parents while relating the story of how his parents’ shaky marriage was saved by his father’s involvement in the 1972 Munich Olympics hostage crisis. Somber and visually mesmerizing, this carefully constructed film is ultimately a thoughtful meditation on love and the integrity of the photographic image. SB

  • In A Dream

2008. USA. 78 mins. Directed by Jeremiah Zagar. Produced by Jeremy Yaches. Executive produced by Ross Kauffman, Geralyn White Dreyfous, Pamela Tanner Boll..

Over the last thirty years, artist Isaiah Zagar has covered forty thousand square feet of Philadelphia with grand-scale mosaics. When Zagar’s son Jeremiah picks up a camera to document his father’s career, he is confronted with the reality of the man in front of the lens. Mental illness, infidelity, sexual abuse, and addiction are some of the jagged pieces that make up the mosaic of Isaiah Zagar’s life. In A Dream is an unblinking look at a celebrated artist who may not always be the husband and father his family needs him to be. NT
