Film Festival Honors William Greaves
DURHAM, N.C. — The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival (www.fullframefest.org), has announced that the recipient of this year’s Career Award is William Greaves. The Career Award presentation will include a showing of Greaves’ first film, “The First World Festival of Negro Arts,” as well as a 20-minute section of his most recent work-in-progress on Harlem. Full Frame selected four additional films directed by Greaves to screen at the festival that will spotlight the range of his work, from his documentaries on black history and culture to his critically acclaimed experimental films. The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival will be held April 3-6 in downtown Durham. Recognized as the premier documentary film festival in the United States by both The New York Times and indieWIRE, Full Frame is an arena for documentary filmmakers to showcase their work theatrically in an environment that stimulates conversation and community between filmmakers, industry executives and the general public. About William Greaves:
William Greaves, one of the most respected independents in the film and television production field, has enjoyed success within the full spectrum of the entertainment arts as a producer, director, writer, editor, cameraman, actor, dancer, drama teacher and song writer. Greaves has produced and directed four feature films and produced scores of documentary films and television programs. His films have won more than 70 international film festival awards, an Emmy and four Emmy nominations.
