Full Frame Documentary Film Festival Announces Opening Day Festivities

Full Frame Kicks Off 11th Annual Festival

The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival (www.fullframefest.org) will kick off with the following notable events:


Opening Day Press Conference
1:30 p.m., Carolina Theatre, Cinema 2

Full Frame will announce notable points in the four-day Festival and offer an opportunity for questions.

Panel members will include Peg Palmer, executive director of Full Frame; Robyn Yigit Smith, managing director of Full Frame; Phoebe Brush, director of programming at Full Frame; and Israel Ehrisman, director of logistics at Full Frame.


Opening Night Press Conference
6:30-6:50 p.m., Durham Arts Council, PSI Theatre

At Full Frame for the U.S. premiere of “Trumbo,” director Peter Askin, actor Joan Allen, and playwright, Christopher Trumbo, will offer an opportunity for questions.

All attending media are asked to enter through the Theatre Entrance of the Durham Arts Council, located on Morris Street.


OPENING NIGHT FILM: “Trumbo”
8 p.m., Carolina Theatre, Fletcher Hall

Elizabeth Edwards, author and wife of former Presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards, will welcome the Opening Night audience to the U.S. premiere of Samuel Goldwyn Films and Red Envelope Entertainment's “Trumbo.”  The film profiles legendary screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, best known for “Spartacus” and “Roman Holiday.”  Based on the play by his son Christopher Trumbo, this film brings together some of Hollywood’s leading actors, including Joan Allen, Brian Dennehy, Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas, Paul Giamatti, Dustin Hoffman, Nathan Lane, Josh Lucas, Liam Neeson, David Strathairn and Donald Sutherland, to paint a portrait of the writer in his own pungent words. 

An extended Q&A with Joan Allen, Director Peter Askin and Christopher Trumbo will follow the screening.

Sponsored by American Tobacco Campus and hosted by Giorgios Hospitality Group, this party is open to the public.  Tickets are available at the Main Box Office in the Durham Armory.
