Volunteer Opportunities

Box Office Cashiers

Cashiers sell and distribute tickets and are responsible for a cash drawer and completing ticketing transactions.

Box Office Line Tenders

Line Tenders help patrons find the appropriate line to either purchase a ticket or receive passholder tickets. They also help direct patrons waiting in line to the appropriate cashier and answer questions about ticketing policies and procedures.

Seating Line Tenders

Seating Line Tenders assist patrons in getting in the correct lines for theater seating. They also answer questions about ticketing policies and procedures and general questions.

Ticket Takers

Ticket Takers scan and tear event tickets as patrons enter the theaters. They also distribute and collect Audience Award ballots when appropriate.

Ushers

Ushers help patrons find a seat once they have entered the theater. They also help the Venue Manager determine seating availability for last minute line patrons.

Registration and Information

Registration and Information volunteers register patrons, give them their passes, and provide festival guests with information about the Festival layout, ticketing procedures, etc. The busiest registration times are Thursday afternoon and Friday and Saturday mornings.

Hospitality

(note: you must 21 years of age or older to volunteer for Hospitality positions)

Hospitality volunteers support many different venues and special events during the Festival including: the Hospitality Suite in the Carolina Theatre, parties, press events, the Fellows Reception, and others. You could be greeting event guests at the door and checking them off of guest lists, setting up or tearing down parties, directing patrons to events, stocking the Hospitality Suite, or other tasks.

Merchandise

Merchandise volunteers run the Festival Shop where Full Frame t-shirts, hats, programs, and other items are sold. Retail experience is a plus for these positions.

Drivers

(note: you must 21 years of age or older to volunteer for Driving positions)

Drivers transport filmmakers, special guests, and other VIP’s to and from the airport, hotels, and special events utilizing Full Frame provided vehicles.

Photography

Photographers are responsible for being sure that all major events at the Festival are documented. Photographer volunteers need to be able to supply their own digital SLR camera.

Outreach

Outreach volunteers do their work in the 8 weeks prior to the festival. It is their job to reach out to the local community to provide information about the films in the Festival. Outreach volunteers canvas the Triangle area (and beyond) with information about the festival in general as well as help pinpoint films and programs that might appeal to particular clubs and groups. They also distribute flyers, posters, Festival broadsheets, and other Full Frame information.

Production

Production volunteers are responsible for building out Full Frame venues, setting up stanchions for seating and ticketing lines, creating and placing festival signage, setting up party spaces, moving things, fixing things, hanging things, and taking down things. There are Production volunteer opportunities before, during, and after the Festival.
