Volunteer Spotlight

Two volunteers direct film festival patrons

They were identifiable by their teal-colored tees and welcoming smiles: more than 200 volunteers who staffed the entirety of the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival landscape in 2024. Volunteers managed venues and directed foot traffic, built screening rooms and oversaw hospitality, collected photos for social media and helped keep the festival’s environmental footprint small, among many other critical jobs.

Volunteers are the backbone of the annual event. Many Full Frame volunteers return year after year to dedicate their time and talents, ensuring that the festival achieves its mission of spotlighting documentary filmmakers and fostering community and conversation. In fact, Full Frame volunteers donated more than 3000 hours of their time in 2024.

Volunteer applications for the 27th annual Full Frame Documentary Film Festival open on February 1, 2025.  Meet three of our 2024 volunteers and learn why so many volunteers return to Full Frame year after year.
