Art dealer Hyman Swetzoff was murdered in Boston in 1968. The murder, rumored to be related to homophobia, remains unsolved. In this lush, personal film, Swetzoff’s daughter Martha tells the story of his life, death, and her struggle to make sense of the homicide. From her father’s journals and office files, Martha discovers the parts of his life he kept hidden from her. She interviews friends, colleagues, detectives, and even author James Elroy, whose mother was also murdered. Filmmaker Swetzoff creates a poetic, heartfelt piece spanning thirty years.
