L’America a Roma

NEW DOCS

The 1960’s Spaghetti Westerns celebrated the classic American Western genre with flattering mimicry—whether through dubbed Eastwood pictures or recreations using Italian actors. Director Pannone recalls these “glory” days of Italian cinema and rediscovers them through interviews with Guglielmo Spoletini (stage name: William Bogart) and his stunt man friends. The result is a charming look at the stories, locations, and characters of the films that reflected the individualist nature of the Italians in the 1960’s.
