I’m a Candidate
NEW DOCS
During the 2000 elections, more than 300 new candidates ran against incumbents in political races—only six won. In the tradition of verité campaign films, this follows two young men, a white Democrat from Cincinnati, OH, and an African American Republican from Albany, GA, as they experience the trials and tribulations of running for office. It reveals the entire process—from walking the parade routes and preparing for debates to creating advertising and raising money for the campaign.
