The Legacy of Rosina Lhevinne

NEW DOCS

There are many layers to the humble Rosina Lhevinne. She was a devoted wife to one of the finest piano players of the 20th century, Josef Lhevinne, and a brilliant pianist in her own right and a master teacher at Julliard. There she taught some of the most talented pianists of our day, including John Browning, Van Cliburn and John Williams. This film tells the story of Rosina Lhevinne through recorded conversations, old photos, footage of her teaching, interviews with her famous students and recordings of both Josef and Rosina’s music. These elements help create a loving tribute to a woman who deserves to be recognized and celebrated.  NEN
