Asylum

NEW DOCS

Baaba Andoh, a young Ghanaian woman, recounts the twists and turns of her life that caused her to seek asylum in the United States. In order to contextualize this woman’s particular, West African chronicle, filmmakers Sandy McLeod and Gini Reticker crosscut and superimpose her on-camera interviews with film footage and soundtracks from Ghana, resulting in an evocative, often bedazzling documentary collage.  RP
