Imagine losing the use of one’s legs, torso, possibly hands—in an instant. Imagine losting them as an Olympic athlete. Murderball is the incredible journey of several men who, despite great personal tragedy, rise to the occasion to become Paralympic athletes. These men overhaul their wheelchairs, outfitting them to withstand the murderous blows that occur on the court in a game most similar to rugby. They have started over—reinventing their lives, even the most intimate parts: from masturbating and intercourse, to driving their car, getting groceries and brushing their teeth. And now they find themselves in completely new roles, as world-class athletes in training and competition for the gold at the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games. This is the true story of the triumph of the human spirit, and all the drama that comes with it.  CD
