This exquisitely crafted portrait of 75-year-old Marita and her six-year-old granddaughter, Marina, is among this year’s most unique visual experiences. Lovely, bright, textured, the film takes us to a small town on the Mediterranean coast of Spain where Marita and Marina are struggling to maintain equilibrium amidst unexpected changes. The filmmaker has taken a familiar cross-generational story about family, tradition, and home and made it radiate with a new documentary vision.  PB
