Workingman’s Death
NEW DOCS
How much reality can you handle? Ask the workers profiled in this expansive look at some of the most intense jobs and landscapes on the planet. From Ukrainian coal miners illegally scraping out coal from 10-inch tall shafts, to goat slaughterers in Nigeria, to Indonesian laborers hauling large baskets of sulfur rocks down a mountain on their backs, the film goes in depth in five locales to show what lengths many laborers must go to in order to survive. Featuring a score by avant-garde composer John Zorn. Content warning: Contains graphic material related to animal slaughter. JH
