A matchmaking agency tries to bridge the economic disparities of 21st century life in South East Asia. Young women from rural Vietnam arrive in Ho Chi Min City and take on the role of hip young beauties in search of marriage. Singapore businessmen arrive in search of brides. These relationships are brokered and rituals planned, but what is the investment on both sides of these unions? Using verité footage and interviews, the film follows one ‘match’ as they navigate the intricate network of the buying and selling of brides, an emerging market to say the least.  KH
