FLOW: For Love of Water
Invited
North Carolina is suffering from historic drought. But a drought isn’t just about a lack of rain. It’s not just a natural disaster. It is also a social and political crisis, affecting communities around the world. FLOW: For Love of Water explores local responses to this global emergency, such as poverty-stricken plumbers reconnecting shantytown water pipes under cover of darkness or a California scientist blowing the whistle on shocking toxicities in the public water supply. After this film’s unflinching examination of water politics, pollution, and human rights, the relationship between human beings and water has never seemed more precarious. A discussion following the film will focus on how we can use this understanding to address the growing crisis in our own backyard.
