2026 Oscar Nominees Announced

    Five films screened at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in 2025 have received 2026 Oscar® nominations in the Best Documentary Feature Film and Best Documentary Short Film categories.
     
    The Full Frame alumni nominated for Best Documentary Feature Film are: 
     
    COME SEE ME IN THE GOOD LIGHT (dir. Ryan White). This film won the Iris Tillman Hill Audience Award–Feature, presented by Peter Lange in honor of Iris Tillman Hill, at the 2025 festival. The film is now streaming on Apple TV+.
     
    See it in theaters as part of Full Frame’s Winter Road Show at The Cary Theater on Thursday, January 29 at 7 p.m. Free advanced tickets are available.
     
    MR. NOBODY AGAINST PUTIN (dirs. David Borenstein, Pavel Talankin). This film is available to stream on Kino Film Collection
     
    See it in theaters as part of Full Frame’s Winter Road Show at The Cary Theater on Thursday, February 5 at 7 p.m. Free advanced tickets are sold out. Unclaimed seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis the night of the screening.
     
    THE PERFECT NEIGHBOR (dir. Geeta Gandbhir). The Full Frame Grand Jury presented the film with a Special Jury Award in 2025.  This film is available to stream on Netflix
    The Full Frame alumni nominated for Best Documentary Short Film are: 
     
    THE DEVIL IS BUSY(dirs. Christalyn Hampton, Geeta Gandbhir), which won the Iris Tillman Hill Audience Award–Short, presented by Peter Lange in honor of Iris Tillman Hill, at the 2025 festival. The film is available to stream on HBO Max.
     
    perfectly a strangeness (dir. Alison McAlpine), won the 2025 Full Frame Jury Award for Best Short, presented by Drs. Barbra and Andrew Rothschild. 
     
    Full Frame is an Academy Award® qualifying festival in the Short Film category for the Jury Award for Best Short.
     
    We are so proud to have screened each of these powerfully moving films at the 2025 festival and to have welcomed members of each of the nominated film teams to our stages. 
     
    The Oscar winners will be announced on Sunday, March 15 at 7 p.m. ET on ABC/Hulu.
