When the beautiful and talented Merrylu Casselly and the heir to Circus Arena, Patrick Berdino, fall in love, their parents rejoice at the prospect of a perfect professional union. Against a backdrop of sequins, stunts, and spectacle, director Anders Riis-Hansen captures a romance unfolding over several seasons and sweeps us behind the scenes of grueling rehearsals, dazzling performances, and the day-to-day life of itinerant artists. But pressure is mounting on Patrick and Merrylu—American circus Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey begins courting the Casselly family, and Patrick is asked to take on increased responsibility in the family business.
