Boogie in Black and White

Thematic North Carolina Classics Curated by Tom Rankin

In the mid-80’s, Alex Albright obtained a copy of the 1947 Pitch a Boogie Woogie. An early black film produced by Lord-Warner Pictures, Inc. and shot in Greenville, NC, the musical comedy featurette follows a man who falls asleep and dreams of opening a nightclub. Albright and Susan Massengale search out actors and others who participated in the making of the film and present their stories with the original film.
