Daring to Resist

NEW DOCS

A memorable portrait of three women who, as teenagers, resisted the Nazis and helped keep others alive. The film’s straightforward and unsentimental structure, using period photographs, interviews and present-day footage, creates a powerful documentary. A German immigrant in Holland hid and moved Jews under her position as a ballerina. A Hungarian schoolgirl joined a Zionist youth group and led border crossings. And a Polish photographer was kept alive by providing Nazis with photos, which give this film breathtaking depth.
