Divining Mom

NEW DOCS

Folks around Woodstock, Vermont, often ask filmmaker George Kachadorian’s mother to use her dowsing ability to find things like a spot to drill a well, lost keys or pets, and even missing bodies. His father, a civil engineer, thinks his beloved wife is losing it. With camera in tow, Kachadorian crisscrosses the country talking to skeptics, priests, physicists, farmers, CIA psychic researchers, hydrogeologists, and dowsers in his attempt to solve the family riddle. Why is his mom dowsing? Is she deluded, or part of a cult? Should he be concerned? Or is she, as her clients attest, a visionary, a mystic with a connection to the earth that we may all have? Divining Mom is a story about marriage, magic, and the power of faith.  JW
