EXIT

NEW DOCS

In Switzerland, where assisted suicide is legal, the choice to end one’s life is not a struggle with the law, but a liberating and empowering decision that, for the terminally ill, turns the tables on death’s ruthless grip. EXIT tells the story of a pioneering organization that assists them once they’ve made that decision. The film documents EXIT volunteers as they help clients preparing for their final day, often struggling themselves with the emotional weight of their job. The filmmakers tackle a heavy subject with such compassion that the film ends up being surprisingly uplifting, with a final scene that makes one not so afraid of dying.  RYS
