Frank Lloyd Wright
NEW DOCS
The fine line between genius and madman/ego-maniac is explored in this film which documents the personal and professional lives of Frank Lloyd Wright. Interviews with family, clients, students, critics, historians and the architect himself are interwoven with footage of his monumental and intimate spaces i.e., private homes, a filling station, an art museum, an office building, a factory, a Japanese resort, etc. Wright broke all the rules in his art and in his life, and this film explores both; the scandalous affairs which titillated the world and embarrassed his family, his favor and disfavor with clients and critics, and elegant footage of the exteriors and interiors of the monuments which he has left the world.
