Girl Wrestler

NEW DOCS

That moment, that age between 11 and 13 often brings out the best in children. Tara, a thirteen-year-old girl in Texas, wrestles boys. That’s not exactly her plan; it’s just that there are not many other girls who wrestle. Diane Zander’s film follows Tara as she competes in regional tournaments on her way to a national tournament. Along the way, she deals with her parent’s divorce, her father’s expectations and other parents who believe girls shouldn’t be wrestling boys.  KF
