NEW DOCS

In this courageous story of family, fatherhood, interracial love and betrayal, Hubert Davis—son of former Harlem Globetrotter Mel Davis—tries to come to terms with his father’s decision, 20 years earlier, to walk out on Hubert and his white mother. Mel loved them dearly, but he decided to marry an African-American woman instead. Hubert tells a heart-wrenching story about the loss of his father while reconnecting with a half-brother from the aforementioned marriage. With moving personal interviews, beautifully shot contemporary footage and powerful home movie images, Hubert Davis weaves a magical tale of hope, forgiveness and even reconciliation.  JJ
