Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows

NEW DOCS

“It’s so hard to find a hero anywhere,” says Bret “The Hitman” Hart, a statement not so far off the mark in the world of professional wrestling. This is the story of a man who still believes in heroes in a world where the “bad guys” often come out on top. Director Paul Jay looks behind the guarded doors of professional wrestling, where behind all of the spectacle and theater there is good and evil, sacrifice and greed, loyalty and betrayal. This film chronicles the story of Hitman Hart: his childhood among twelve siblings, all of whom are connected to wrestling in some way; his turbulent rise through the ranks of pro wrestling, culminating in the biggest, true double-cross in the history of pro wrestling. Hitman Hart keeps pushing forward in a struggle against Vince McMahon, the mastermind behind the World Wrestling Federation. It just may be that Bret himself is the hero he is looking for.
