In the Shadow of the Moon

Invited

Can you imagine what it is like to walk on the moon? To bounce along its white, rocky surface, protected only with a suit made by mortals hundreds of thousands of miles away? What did it sound like? Could you hear your footsteps and smell the cosmos, or was that space suit too thick? These are all questions a child might ask today. In 1968, the whole world wondered as the first human being stepped foot on the moon. Over the next four years he was followed by eleven others. The surviving astronauts of the Apollo Space Program tell us their thrilling stories in director David Sington’s extraordinary documentary. Their memories and reflections are heightened by breathtaking never-before-seen film footage of the missions, the moon and the men that saw the earth’s great beauty from a distance—an infinitely precious solitaire suspended in the vast black expanse of space.  PB
