Press On

NEW DOCS

Get down, boogie and praise the Lord. Press On traces the history of “sacred steel,” a unique steel guitar-based gospel music born in African American Pentecostal churches. The film follows the meteoric rise of one of the tradition’s most accomplished practitioners, Robert Randolph. Combining archival footage, revealing interviews and blistering performances, Press On will feed the souls of religious and secular music lovers alike. But be warned: this movie contains licks that are so hot they’ll burn the ears (and move the feet) of even the most subdued listeners.  TW
