Reel Paradise

Invited

When John Pierson, the indie film commentator, producer and exhibitor decided to move his family to Fiji for a year and run a movie house, he takes on more than the challenges of real estate and film programming. In the true spirit of cultural exchange and its flip side—unavoidable culture clash—the Piersons learn as much about their new neighbors as their neighbors learn about the Piersons. And the thread that connects them all, for better or for worse, are the movies that John shows to an eager audience. From Buster Keaton to Queen Latifah, it’s a small world after all. Though tension abounds in this provocative and funny film, the smiles on everyone’s faces as they face the movie screen is undeniable.
