Return with Honor

Full Frame Grand Jury Award 1999

NEW DOCS

The people of America, during the Vietnam War era, were split over their country’s involvement overseas. But in 1973, thousands united to welcome home 462 American pilots held captive in North Vietnam for up to 8 ½ years. The first-person survival accounts of the pilots and the testimonies of their wives, who for so long did not know the status of their husbands, are weaved together with Vietnamese archival footage to record a moving story of mental, physical and emotional resiliency.
