In The Many Sad Fates of Mr. Toledano, directed by Joshua Seftel, we meet Phil Toledano–a photographer and worrywart–as he obsesses over his mortality and stages elaborate shoots to enact the myriad dark ways he might age, deteriorate, and die. Finally, in The 100 Years Show, directed by Alison Klayman, the fierce and funny 99-year-old artist Carmen Herrera relishes her status as the “hot new thing” on the art scene, recalls her youth in Cuba, and recounts her long-fought battle for creative recognition.
