Stand Like Still Living

NEW DOCS

Stand Like Still Living is short, it’s lyrical, it’s bittersweet, it’s full of life–and death. Above all, just like the lives it touches, it is sparingly beautiful. Set in a San village in western Botswana, Stand Like Still Living follows the lives of two people affected by AIDS. A day laborer waits for his test results and battles a deepening existential crisis; a woman must overcome her alcoholism and try to imagine a possible future for her newborn baby whose status is still unknown. Stand Like Still Living achieves a rare feat: to capture the rhythms of two human beings standing on that precarious yet luminous doorway between life and death.  RD
