NEW DOCS

In this brief portrait, an aging acrobat considers the end of his beloved career. Sebastien lives for the exhilaration of performing, but he is the oldest member of his troupe and the circus is not an easy way of life. His dilemma plays out over an intimate conversation with his parents—who are still in awe of the risk involved in his work—and moments of quiet reflection between rehearsals, where hard questions seem to occupy his thoughts. The camera focuses carefully on preparations for the show, drawing a connection between the intricate scaffolding of the stage and the joints and tendons of his human frame. His is a demanding physical career, and his body may let go of the ability to perform before his mind is ready.  ST
