NEW DOCS
On the last night of the 2004 Republic Convention in New York City, time slows impossibly and sound is distorted beyond comprehension. A young man diligently and almost sensually cleans a display window. He is in another world: The pane of glass separates him from the undulating crowd of protestors, the skeptical gaze of the police. The protesters, the police, and the workers busily preparing for the opening of a new Diesel store seem fathoms away from each other despite their physical proximity. In this experimental short film—which has politics at its core—we are urged to contemplate the overwhelming pressures of the global everyday: labor, capital, and the inexorable march of wayward politics.
