Teatro Amazonas

NEW DOCS

Experimental documentarian Sharon Lockhart puts her camera on the stage of a Buenos Aires opera house and points it at the audience. From this simple premise grows an exploration of the elements that make cinema cinema—moving pictures, a sound mix and an audience gathered together, watching. A grand conceptual joke about the very essence of moving-making and movie-going that turns auteur theory on its head and puts the audience in the driver’s seat.
