The Killer Within

NEW DOCS

When is the past truly past? Bob Bechtel, a prominent psychology professor at Arizona University, decides to reveal to his extended family, colleagues, and students a secret he has kept for nearly fifty years: while an undergraduate at Swarthmore, he killed a fellow student. Although his wife and daughters have known the secret for a while, Bechtel’s public announcement presents a dilemma for Carrah, his younger daughter, who, though she loves her father deeply, has difficulty making sense of the killing. How do you move forward when your past radically changes? This compelling narrative will provoke reflection on identity, insanity, justice, forgiveness, and redemption.  AT
