The Kinda Sutra

NEW DOCS

Oscar-winning filmmaker Jessica Yu brings a whimsical yet thoughtful touch to the gap between childhood imagination and grown-up facts regarding the birds and the bees. A series of interviews with people of all ages conveys youthful cluelessness, seemingly universal, about the body and sexuality. The film uses animation to demonstrate the wealth of images and ideas stemming from childhood misinformation and extrapolation. The recognizable style of illustrations from the Kama Sutra serves as a jumping-off point to a warm and humorous set of animations.  NK
