The Living Museum
Thematic A World Without Limits Curated by Leroy T. Walker and Nancy Buirski
Dr. Janoz Martin helps the mental patients at Creedmore Psychiatric Hospital “turn their vulnerabilities into weapons, through art.” He oversees the Living Museum, an annex at Creedmore where the mentally ill become artists. Without romanticizing the horrors of mental illness, director Jessica Yu captures the beauty of it. The artists’ work speaks for itself. As they create and discuss their work, the fine line between creativity and “madness” all but dissolves.
