Director Loren Waters puts acclaimed Oklahoma artist Dana Tiger front and center in this candid and contemplative short about Dana’s famous family of Indigenous artists and the renowned Tiger Art Gallery. Dana’s heartfelt voice recounts the tragic circumstances that led to her mother starting the company after her father, Jerome Tiger, died in an accidental shooting when Dana was only five. Left to raise three small children, Dana’s mom enlists her brother-in-law Johnny Tiger to design T-shirts using his and Jerome’s art-forward screenprinting process. Dana’s rich, often dreamlike recollections are effectively punctuated by an array of vibrant home movies and photos. Even as she shares her immeasurable grief, Dana somehow exemplifies an incredible resilience, underscoring the universal power of art to heal.  WM
