In 1902, Giuseppe Verdi founded a retirement home for opera stars in Milan, which he named Casa Verdi and which he originally supported with his own royalties. Such is the subject of Schmid’s Tosca’s Kiss, which lovingly portrays not only the world of Casa Verdi, but the fascinating residents living there as well.
