NEW DOCS

When the Three Gorges Dam on China’s historic Yangtze River is completed, two million inhabitants of shoreline villages will lose their homes. Up the Yangtze takes the viewer aboard a ferry on a farewell tour of the river, meeting passengers and villagers along the way whose attitudes regarding the fate of the river range from resigned to heartbroken. Beautifully photographed and paced, Up the Yangtze is a poignant travelogue of places that will soon cease to exist.  TM
