For twenty minutes, this film communicates the quivering tension between two male dancers who move in intimate tandem in a performance of Israeli choreographer Emanuel Gat’s “Winter Voyage.” The two men dance circles around each other with extraordinary, sinewy grace, but never touch, as if a force were binding their movements. Through its exquisitely photographed phrases, this brief film leaves a permanent record of the live energy of Gat’s choreography, but it also grants us a vision of spellbinding synchronicity.  ST
