Full Frame’s Winter Road Show Brings Three Oscar®-Shortlisted Films to The Cary Theater
DURHAM, N.C. — Three documentaries on the 2025 Oscars shortlist will be shown at the upcoming Full Frame Documentary Film Festival Winter Road Show series.
The films – Daughters, Union, and Hollywoodgate – were screened at the 2024 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, a program of Duke University’s Center for Documentary Studies. Full Frame is partnering with The Cary Theater in Cary, N.C. to host the winter series, with screenings January 23, January 30, and February 6. All screenings are free and open to the public, though attendees are asked to reserve a free ticket through The Cary Theater website.
“With the return of Full Frame’s Winter Road Show this season, we can show three standout titles from the 2024 festival,” said Festival Co-Director and Artistic Director Sadie Tillery. “We are grateful for the partnership of The Cary Theater, whose support allows us to make these showings available to the public for free. We hope audiences will join us in revisiting these celebrated titles from the past year, which may remind attendees what they can look forward to this coming April at Full Frame 2025.”
Daughters won the Sally Robinson Audience Award at Full Frame’s 2024 festival, while Hollywoodgate won the Grand Jury Award.
“Year-round programs like the Winter Road Show allow us to stay connected with our community beyond the festival weekend,” says Emily Foster, Full Frame’s Festival Co-Director. “Offering these films ensures more people can experience powerful storytelling and meaningful conversations throughout the year.”
