The Weather Underground

Thematic Class in America Curated by St. Clair Bourne

This reflective film tells the story of anti-Vietnam War activists who set out to overthrow the U.S. government. Through much of the 1970s, The Weathermen bombed government buildings, banks, and institutions across the country. In the process, they confronted their own positions of privilege within the race and class structure in the U.S. even as they evaded one of the largest manhunts in FBI history. The film also examines the U.S. government’s suppression of dissent in the 1960s and 1970s.
